Gypsy Caravans are comfortable, romantic and furnished with a real touch of class. They have private courtyards, spectacular water views and as they are fully insulated and lined with sweet-smelling Japanese cedar, they are cool in summer and warm in winter. Raised queen beds with romantic drapery, lead-light or coloured glass windows create a unique ambience. There are basic utilities—kettle, tea and coffee, fridge and outside wash stand with basin. All other amenities are nearby.
Luxury Romantic Safari tents for couples (two rooms) are mounted on large decks and have garden or river views. They are fully and romantically furnished with double beds, furniture, fridges, tea and coffee facilities, rugs, linen and electric lighting.
There are three large, deck-mounted family Safari Tents with full furnishings, three rooms plus deck/patio. This has two bedrooms, both with double beds, and a living room with single bed, furniture, fridge and tea/coffee facilities. The nearby facilities block has toilets, showers, laundry and kitchen, complete with crockery and cutlery. All you have to bring is a torch!
The Boathouse is perfect for a romantic weekend. It has been converted into a spectacular yet affordable accommodation, with heaps of character and two large rooms. There is a comfortable sitting room with kitchenette, complete with oven, hot plates, sink and tea/coffee facilities. There is a couch that can be used as a single bed. The boating decor, complete with antique boating accessories, painted waves and clouds, high ceiling, stable doors and cedar finishes creates a unique ambience!
The nextdoor bedroom is lined with sweet-smelling Japanese cedar and has charming decor, including model boats, bronze propellor, old travel trunks and rustic wall-mounted textile. The queen bed has a spectacular and high-level view straight down the river through the shell of the old Slipway. Enjoy the ducks in the water below or dancing fantails and the occassional swinging possum in the rafters of the old slipway, just outside the large viewing window.
There are two private decks with garden and river views. A short walk away is the facilities block with shower and toilets.
This is a historic cottage with a touch of class. If budget is not a problem and you really want to spoil your partner with a special weekend, for a low cost you can enjoy our nicest cottage, the Jade House—a lovely, private, self-contained honeymoon cottage on the river. For an extra $71, we can arrange a special Japanese foot massage while you enjoy the unique river view.
The bedroom/living room has subtle Asian décor and a queen bed. There is a separate, fully equipped kitchen and small bathroom with toilet and shower. The deck surrounds three sides of the house and has superb river, inlet and forest views.
Mounted high on a large, raised deck, the Pear Tree House nestles under branches of a giant pear tree next to a life-size Buddha and huge Phoenix palm in a private, bird-rich area of the tropical gardens. Deck furniture allows you to relax in comfort and enjoy the frolicking fantails, tuis, rare kakas and great bird song. All amenities are nearby.
The Silver Ferns Caravan is a large, fully restored, iconic caravan with native wood finishes—lined with sweet-smelling Japanese cedar. Approximately 10 square meters of interior space gives lots of room for two people or a family of three. There is a sitting/dining area, kitchenette, double and single bed, fridge, tea/coffee facilities, outdoor awning and furniture. The location offers superb and expansive views down the river to the inlet. All other facilities are nearby.
If you are on a tight budget but still want to experience something rather special and romantic, then come and stay in the Wheel House.
