Reservation and Cancellation Policy
All canceled reservations received 999 or more days prior to arrival are subject to a 10% cancellation penalty.
Reservations canceled within 7 days of the scheduled arrival date are subject to a 1 Night penalty.

Pet Policy
Pets are welcome! Walden Retreats Hill Country is a pet friendly property but do ask that you be responsible for your pet and respectful of the property and other guests. In order to do that, here are a few rules:
- Due to allergy concerns, we do not allow cats to stay in the rooms
- Dogs are always welcome and a fee of $30/NIGHT is associated with their stay. If you are traveling with a pet, please let us know ahead of time so that arrangements can be made.
- A maximum of ONE dog is allowed per room.
- Dogs must be leashed when outside.
- Like any good owner, the property expects guests to clean up after their pet and properly dispose of any waste.
- Pets are not to be left unattended in the rooms. If you do leave your pets in the room, THEY MUST BE CRATED.
- Please keep your pets off the bed, as any bedding damaged beyond reasonable cleaning attempts will be subject to a replacement fee.
How Do I Get There?
- From Johnson City, head west on Hwy 290 for 1 mile
- Turn right onto Towhead Valley Road
- Drive .2 miles and stay right on Towhead Valley Road
- Continue straight for 2 miles (you will cross 2 cattle guards)
- Turn left onto Gipson Road (dirt road with cattle guard). Note: Gipson and Gibson are the same road
- Continue for .5 miles and turn left to continue on Gipson Road
- After .75 miles you will see the Walden sign on your right
- Gate code is 1854
- Enter gate and follow road for .75 miles turn left to park

Walden Retreats Hill Country is located 1 hour west of Austin and 1 hour north of San Antonio in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Situated on private land along the Pedernales River, the property features 3 miles of hiking and biking trails, 1,500 feet of private river frontage, canoeing, swimming and fishing. The property is within 30 minutes of more than a dozen award winning wineries, Luckenbach Dancehall, Pedernales Falls State Park, Real Ale Brewery, Garrison Brothers distillery and Fredericksburg.
