How Do I Get There?

The property is located 8 miles west of Cañon City on the south side of Highway 50. Please check in at the lodging registration office at the property entrance upon arrival. 

Drive time from Colorado Springs downtown or airport is approximately one hour. Drive time from Denver downtown is approximately 2 hours, while those driving from Denver International Airport should expect at least a 2 hour, 20 minute drive.

Royal Gorge Cabins is an adventure resort just far enough in the Rocky Mountains to offer an authentic Colorado experience with exciting outdoor adventures and attractions. Located just an hour from Colorado Springs and minutes outside of Cañon City, Royal Gorge Cabins focuses on providing a truly one-of-a-kind lodging experience. 

Choose from the 1 bedroom, 1-bathroom luxury cabins designed for couples and families with young children, or spread out in the 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom cabin. Both cabins are well-appointed with modern amenities and incredible views of the mountains. Royal Gorge Cabins also offers two sizes of canvas wall Glamping tents, complete with linens, towels, private deck, evaporative cooler for summer cooling, outdoor dining table, fire ring, and access to a close-by shared shower house.

A full service seasonal restaurant and bar is on-site where guests can watch a beautiful sunset on the shaded patio or watch TV on the large screens inside the dining room. The bar boasts 16 draft beers on tap with an emphasis on Colorado craft beers. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Also, on site is Colorado's largest white-water rafting company - Echo Canyon River Expeditions. The staff at Echo offers complimentary activity planning and can assist guests with reservations or information about rafting, historic train rides, guided fishing, jeep tours, bike tours and much more. The staff at Royal Gorge Cabins and Echo Canyon can assist guests in planning the perfect Colorado vacation.

Inside Scoop

  • Mid to late June is a beautiful time to travel in this part of Colorado - the weather is gorgeous, most attractions are open 7 days a week but not yet too busy leaving more flexibility when reserving activities.
