    All canceled reservations received 43 or more days prior to arrival are subject to a £150 cancellation penalty.

    Reservations canceled within 14 days of the scheduled arrival date are subject to a 100% penalty and are responsible for the entire stay and will forfeit all payments.

    When you pick up your campervan a refundable security/damage deposit of $664 is required to cover insurance excess in the event of an accident and any damage caused to the campervan. The security deposit is held during the hire period and is refundable on the safe return of our campervan and its contents.

  • Pet Policy

    Pets are welcome at this property. Snowdownia Classic Campers request that you contact them in advance to discuss further requirements. There is an extra $35 per reservation charge to cover the additional cleaning from pet hairs and paw prints. This small charge covers all your dogs, although Snowdonia Classic Campers do not recommend you bring any more than 2 medium sized breeds or 1 large pet as you simply won’t all fit in the camper!

The retro VW campervans are located in Pantmawr near Pantglas, a small village on the A487 between Caernarfon and Porthmadog in Gwynedd, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, Wales.

Reserving a retro classic VW camper van gives you the freedom to create your own holiday adventure, whether you’re taking a weekend break or embarking on a longer adventure.

The 1970's retro campers have undergone a superb restoration and modern makeover that ensures reliability, safety, and ease of use. They are all right-hand drive and vintage.

The beautiful retro VW camper vans come fully equipped with everything you need for a road trip. From table and chairs, to that all-important corkscrew, you’ll have everything needed to embark on your next adventure. All you need to bring is a towel, bedding and some clothes.

The camper vans are suitable for 2 adults and 2 children.

All the campers include full UK insurance for one named driver, breakdown coverage, a first aid kit, smoke alarms, gas safety certificate, and more. Safety and reliability are a key focus for us.

Inside Scoop

  • Driver requirements


    The campers are covered by UK standard vehicle insurance. You can drive one of the campers if you have held a full UK / EU / USA / Canadian / Australian or New Zealand drivers license for 2 or more years and are between 25 and 70 years old. Snowdownia Classic Campers can also pass insurance for drivers over 21 and older than 70 or drivers with a foreign driver’s license, subject to a $996 security deposit.
    Please note, if you have any driving offences / insurance claims we may not be able to authorise your hire as they could result in the vehicle not being insured.Iif you are unsure, please get in touch.
    Before you begin your adventure, the property will require copies of your driving license photo card for insurance purposes. If you hold a UK license, an online DVLA check result/print out, and 2 separate utility bills (excluding mobile phone bills) dated within 90 days of the hire start date are required for all those who intend to drive the campervan.
