Bus Rooms

This old city bus was saved from the scrap yard and has found a new home nestled into a lush field on a private farm, beneath the mountain Esja. The entire bus is comfortably wrapped in mother earth, which undoubtedly gives your stay with ESJAN more bliss and earth connection.

BUS room 1 is at the back end of this extra long city bus, measuring 2.4m x 6m.  Original bus seating makes up the dining table area and recycled timber combined with second hand furniture/lamps have been used to create a wooden cabin sensation. The small kitchenette includes a stove and fridge, as well as all the pots and pans you will need for basic cooking. Crockery and cutlery are also on board.  In this unit we have the queen size bed as well as a sofa, which turns into a comfortable bunk bed.

BUS room 2 is the middle section and certainly the most romantic of the three. The wood artistry varies in each of the units, but all of it is recycled and each element of furniture was found in local second hand shops.

The double bed is situated as if inside a cave, as a result of it inhabiting the mid-harmonica section of this x-long bus. Room 2 measures 2.4m x 5.50 and the small kitchenette includes a stove and fridge, as well as all the pots and pans you will need for basic cooking. As you are snuggled into the earth, you will look across the fields right under your window and up to the mountains.

BUS room 3 is the driver´s seat and measures 2.4m x 6m! Here you have the full front window view onto the mountain and surrounding landscape. Although we had to remove the steering wheel here you will most certainly feel like you are going places. Most of the timber is recycled and all the furniture and lighting were found in second hand shops. Carvings of Trolls and rugged Icelandic landscapes can be found above the bed. The dining table seating is from the original bus interior and here again the sofa turns into a bunk bed. The small kitchenette includes a stove and fridge, as well as all the pots and pans you will need for basic cooking.

The view from each of the units is mountain magnificent. Extra blankets are provided in each unit. The Bath House is situated beside the bus with a ladies & gents section, each with 2 showers and 2 toilets/sinks.
