In the early days, the campsite served as a holiday colony for children, an Antiga Colónia de Férias dos Comboios de Portugal. Built in the 1940s to welcome children of the railway employees for holidays, today the company runs a unique campground with famous locally brewed beer, pizza truck, wine shop & tasting from the local vineyards of the Colares region and the sunset bar area up in the hills. Furthermore, you'll find a cafeteria, beach fashion shop, an extensive kids’ playground, beach volleyball field and a supermarket where local products can be bought and consumed.
