Kenzan Mara Tented Camp is located north of the Serengeti National Park in Kogatende.

Arusha Airport (ARK), which are for domestic flights only, Julius Nyerere International in Dar Es Salaam (DAR), and Kilimanjaro International (JRO) are the three main airports within Tanzania that offer connecting flights to Kogatende Airstrip, a 45-minute drive from the property. 

ARRIVAL FROM KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL (JRO)

Kilimanjaro International is serviced by a number of international airline carriers, including Qatar Airways, Kenya Airways, KLM, Turkish Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines and Edelweiss Air. Subject to demand, it is possible to board a flight connecting to Kogatende Airstrip directly from Kilimanjaro International for international flight arrivals before 11:00 am. The flight time from Kilimajaro International to Kogatende Airstrip is approximately one hour. For international flight arrivals before 10:15 am, there is also the option of a one hour land transfer to Arusha Airport, from where guests may board a connecting flight to Kogatende at 1:00 pm.

Should the international flight arrival time not allow for a same-day connecting flight to Kogatende Airstrip, the Reservations team at the property would be happy to assist guests in making airport transfer and overnight accommodation arrangements in Arusha. Just a short drive from Arusha Airport, a selection of local coffee lodges offer the opportunity to relax into the holiday experience before arriving at the Lodge the next day.

Jomo Kenyatta International airport, in Nairobi, Kenya (NBO), also offers numerous connections throughout the day to Kilimanjaro International airport (JRO). Jomo Kenyatta International is serviced by a number of international airline carriers, including British Airways, Air France, United Airlines, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Delta, Lufthansa, Ethiopian Airlines and Etihad.

ARRIVAL FROM NAIROBI AIRPORT (JOMO KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL)

Jomo Kenyatta International airport, in Nairobi, Kenya (NBO), offers a wide number of international flight connections. From there, guests may transit on to Tanzania via numerous connections throughout the day to Kilimanjaro International airport (JRO). If the international flight lands into Nairobi before 7:00 am, guests may have the option to connect onto a flight to Kogatende or they can board a short flight to Kilimanjaro International to connect to Kogatende Airstrip on the same day (listed above). For arrivals into Nairobi later in the day, it is possible to board a late afternoon flight to Kilimanjaro International, from where the Reservations team at the property would be happy to assist guests with making airport transfer and overnight accommodation arrangements in Arusha. Alternatively, guests may choose to stay the night in Nairobi and board the early morning flight to Kilimanjaro International to connect onwards to Kogatende Airstrip. If the international flight arrives into Nairobi by early afternoon, there is also the option to charter a private flight directly to Kogatende the same day (see Charter Flights below).

ARRIVAL FROM ARUSHA AIRPORT (ARK)

Several daily flights to Kogatende Airstrip are offered from Arusha Airport by a choice of local airlines, with the latest departure time currently scheduled at 1:00 pm. The direct flight time between Arusha Airport and Kogatende Airstrip is approximately 45 minutes.

ARRIVAL FROM JULIUS NYERERE INTERNATIONAL IN DAR ES SALAAM (DAR)

Julius Nyerere International is serviced by a number of international airline carriers, including Emirates, British Airways, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Swiss, South African Airlines and KLM. For international flight arrivals before 7.30am, it is possible to board a connecting flight to Kogatende Airstrip from the airport's domestic terminal (five minute taxi ride from the international terminal), with a flight time of approximately two hours. Alternatively, connecting domestic flights are available to Kilimanjaro International (listed above).

CHARTER FLIGHTS

A choice of private charter aircraft is also available for all of the above mentioned flight routes to allow direct connections to Kogatende Airstrip without any other stops en route. Charter flights offer the comfort of a private, pressurized cabin, no weight restriction for luggage and may land at Kogatende Airstrip any time during daylight hours (sunset falls between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm seasonally). LOCAL AIRLINES AND LUGGAGE RESTRICTIONS

Local airlines include Air Excel, Costal Aviation, Regional Air, Northern Air, Auric Air and Tanganyika Flying Company. These airlines use Cessna Grand Caravans or similar aircraft, which carry 9 to 13 passengers. Luggage is restricted to 15kg per passenger and must be carried in soft sided bags or suitcases (no hard-shell cases).
